drag race

An incredible drag race has just taken place between a Superbike, Fighter Jet, Formula-1 Racing Car, Business Jet and three sports cars - an Aston Martin Vantage, a Lotus Evora and a Tesla Model S.

This stunning match up was staged as part of Istanbul's Teknofest and the whole thing was captured on video - see below.

Who is your money on....?

Mouth Watering - Formula 1 vs. Superbike:

The Engines:

The Kawasaki Ninja Motorcycle is powered by a supercharged 998 cc engine with 310 hp and 115 lb⋅ft torque at 12,500rpm, while the F1 Racing Car boasts a Renault 2,400 cc naturally aspirated mid mounted engine.  This is a case of two beasts going hard at it and is not for the faint hearted.  And, don't blink, this motorcycle vs jet drag race doesn't last long!

Kenan Sofuoğlu:

Kenan Sofuoğlu, a retired Turkish motorcycle World Champion was the winning rider of the Kawasaki.  Sofuoğlu who has won the highest number of Supersport World Championship titles – five, in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016 - retired from racing in 2018.  After a dominant career in motorsport Sofuoglu is now involved in Turkish politics as a member of the ruling Justice and Development Party, the AK Party.

THE BIKE- KAWASAKI NINJA H2R:

The Kawasaki Ninja H2R is the most powerful and fastest production motorcycle in the world.  It is a "Supercharged Supersport" Class-8 motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki Japan.  The track only model, called a Ninja H2R, is a masterpiece capable of producing a maximum horsepower of 326hp (243 kW) with ram air.  In the words of Total Motorcycle; "The bike needed to deliver intense acceleration and an ultra-high top speed, coupled with supersport-level circuit performance".

TOP SPEED 400km/h:

The bike has been optimised to deliver instant acceleration and an eye watering top speed of 400 km/h.  The motorcycle has been designed for use on closed course ciruits only and cannot be used on public roads or motorways.  To buy one of these monsters will cost you the best part of £50,000 sterling.

Teknofest - The Result:

The Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle finished the quarter mile race in just 9.43 seconds - just 0.04 seconds in front of the Red Bull F1 racing car.  The F-16 fighter jet claimed third spot.  It was close, very close and needed a photo finish to see clearly who had claimed the chequered flag.  Teknofest Istanbul is a festival of aviation, aerospace and technology held to highlight the many advances in technology Turkey has made in recent years.  The festival is sponsored by the governmant and its aim is to develop public awareness of the nation's technological achievements.  Next up - fighter jet vs car and formula 1 vs. jet fighter video.

Next up, how about we take a look at a formula 1 car vs. superbike, superbike drag race, f1 vs superbike, or some jet race cars? Who’d win in a superbike vs supercar, supercar vs superbike, kawasaki h2r vs jet or even a fighter jet car? Now, that would be some race!

The F1 car would win in a real race if there were any corners at all. It has a far superior cornering ability than the bike.
