Strong, Reliable Cable Ties:

These nylon 66 cable ties are employed in a wealth of applications in the automotive industry.  The material of construction makes them highly suitable for auto and electrical work.  They are often used to harness and bundle items such as wires.

Cable Ties - All Sizes/ Types:

We stock cable ties in a wide selection of sizes.  Our ties are available in miniature sizes for holding small loads, (functioning like straps), and are also delivered in medium and much larger sizes with longer lengths and greater tensile strength for large items and bundles.

Nylon 66:

The versatility of nylon makes it one of the most widely engineered and used thermoplastics in the world today.  It is an excellent material of construction for cable ties as it has a high tensile strength, a high melting point and outstanding abrasion resistance.  The fact that it is also resistant to photo degradation ensures it can be used outdoors in conditions of high sunlight.  Nylon 66 cable ties also deliver a number of key advantages specific to the automotive industry:

  • Chemical Resistance to Oil & Petroleum
  • Heat Resistance
  • Durability/ Wear Resistance
  • High Tensile Strength

Synthesis of Nylon 66:

Nylon 66 is a synthetic polyamide of nylon. It is one of the most popular forms of nylon in the plastics industry and boasts many strengths and advantages.  It is synthesised by the polycondensation of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid.  Equal volumes of hexamethylenediamine and adipic acid are combined with water in a reactor.  After a crystalisation process the nylon salt is further processed in a reaction vessel where a polymerization reaction takes place.  The end product of the procedure is Nylon 66.
